Street Performing


Street performing or in other words busking is a form of work, which involves performing in public places, generally for money. These performances could be literally anything as long as it fulfilled its purpose of being entertaining. Examples of types of performances are; caricatures, singing, dancing, fire eating, fire breathing, magic, juggling etc.

The most common means of employment for entertainers, before the technology developed and the media industry began to produce films etc. was street perming. The other name for street permoning busking came from the english Language around the middle 1860s in Great Britain. The word "busk" comes from the Spanish root word "buscar", meaning "to seek" – buskers are literally seeking fame and fortune Up until the 20th century buskers were commonly called minstrels in America, Europe and other English-speaking lands.
